July 12, 2008 A Personal Message From Nicole!!
My surgery went really well. It's been a month now and I am starting to do more on my own. I dont even have to have help getting in and out of the bed now! The Lord has blessed me again. Surgery was only 2 hours they had originally said 3-3 1/2 hours. Surgery was a success. My back has not hurt one time since surgery! That is a miracle itself!!! My side is still a little sore where they removed the rib but I can handle that. It is nothing compared to my back pain before surgery!!! I am in therapy 3 times a week. I have accomplished one thing already dont have to wear my leg brace anymore. They are trying to wean me off my back brace now. The rest of the Summer will be alot of therapy and hard work at home with my home exercises. Still praising the Lord everyday for answering prayers!!!!

July 26, 2006 Update
I am sorry to inform everyone, but Nicole will not be going home August 10th!! The Doctors are now saying maybe in September. I will let you know, if I find out anything new.

Thanks,
Lisa

June 28, 2006 Update
The only Update I have on Nicole, as of today, is that she will be staying in Atlanta a little longer than we originally thought. Her "tentative" release date to go Home is now, August 10, 2006. I will bring you more up to date as soon as I can. God Bless You and Thanks for checking on Nicole!!

June 18, 2006 Update
Happy Father's Day, Uncle Cecil!!

We All Love You!!

Nicole had some Awesome Visitors this Weekend!! Nicole's Youth Pastor, Pastor Robbie Smith, and the Wesleyan Church Youth Group came all the way from Chesnee, South Carolina to Atlanta!! They ate some good 'ole Pizza, and I'm sure, had a GREAT time catching up on everything!! Oh, what Fellowship must have been like with everyone together once again!! I know Nicole hated to see them leave,  but don't you worry, 'Cole, you'll be seeing everybody again, real soon!!  Nicole continues to work hard with Outpatient Therapy. She is so happy to be able to spend every night with her Mom and Dad!! She wants to go Home sooooooo bad!! That's her favorite question now...."When can I go Home?" God so Loves Nicole's Sweet, Precious Heart!!
But, don't we all? {smile}

Thank you, as always, for checking in!!

God Bless You!!

~Lisa~

June 15, 2006 Update
God has laid it HEAVY on my Heart, to ask everyone, including myself, not to forget to Praise Him!! We usually remember our Prayers to Him, but are we guilty of forgetting to also Praise Him? I know I am.... We all are....

I really don't know if this is true or not, but I heard, or read somewhere one time, so please don't quote me, {smile} "God sends His Angels to listen to our Prayers, but when we Praise Him, God comes Himself!!"

"For that reason, God gave us Psalms, a Praise Book for God's people. This collection of Hymns and Petitions are strung together by one thread....A Heart hungry for God. Worship is a daunting task. No secret formula exists. What moves you, may not move another. We each Worship different, but each should Worship!!"

~Max Lucado~

So let us give Him Praise!! We should always Honor and Glorify His name!! He truly IS the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords!! Only God knows why He allowed us to keep Nicole in our lives. For He has a "Plan"!! Without a doubt, I believe in the "Power of Prayer", and I believe in "God's Will"!! For He has known long before us, what His "Plans" are!! God loves us soooooo very much, and He only wants us to love Him back!!

God Bless You!!
Each and Everyone of You!!
Today and Always!!
Praise God!!

~Lisa~

Nicole is very, very excited tonight!!  Her Dad and Mom, get to spend a full 48 Hours with her, Day AND Night!! Nicole, is transitioning from Inpatient Therapy to Outpatient Therapy, and they are showing Cecil and Rita how to care for Nicole, even though she's, of course, been doing GREAT on her own!! She has also improved even more, by Walking without ANY help!! They just have been told, to watch her close, to make sure she doesn't get carried away and try to run!!  {Just kidding!!} When Nicole was told that she got to spend the Night with her Mom and Dad, Nicole said, "It's about time!!"  God Loves her sooooo!! Thanks for checking in!! Hopefully, I will be writing an "Update" real soon, that says, "Nicole is on her way Home to Chesnee!! Praise the Lord!!"

God Bless You,
~Lisa~

May 22, 2006 Update
I hope you enjoyed the new Pictures I Posted yesterday. Especially, 'Cole's Dad, My Uncle Cecil, trying to ride the Moose!! {smile} Nicole continues on her road to Recovery!! Her Back Brace has been removed!! As stated earlier, NO Surgery will be needed on her Back or Neck!! They have moved her Release Date to Outpatient Therapy, from May 24, 2006 to June 08, 2006 because they did not feel she was quite ready yet, but she has progressed even more just in the past week!! So they may Release her to Outpatient before then. This is a GOOD thing though, because it shows that they are not in a hurry to push her, if she's not ready yet. That shows GREAT Patient Care!! Thanks for checking in!! I will continue to Update you as often as possible!! God Bless You and Have a Blessed Day and Evening!! If anyone has a specific question about 'Cole or wants to E-Mail me for any reason, please feel free to at:

amandarip2002@bellsouth.net

Love To All!!

So check it out tomorrow!! {smile}

May 14, 2006 Update Happy Mother's Day!! ^i^
There really is no Update on Nicole, but she does continues to improve Daily!! She is speaking better, trying to eat on her own. She has been having to be fed, but they are letting her do it herself now!! She still has a "Tentative" Release Date of May 24, 2006. She will not be going Home, though. She will be transfered to "Shepherd Pathways Outpatient Rehabilitation" , also here in Atlanta, for about 4-6 weeks of Outpatient Therapy and then, "God Willing", she will be going Home to Chesnee!! I know that you all are sooooooo looking forward to seeing her. It won't be long now!! God Bless You and Thanks for checking in!! Happy Mother's Day, Rita!! {smile}

May 05, 2006 Update
I can't even keep up with YOU now, 'Cole!! You got your Neck brace OFF TODAY!! Nicole's plans for the near future, are to go to "Shepherd Pathways" on an Outpatient basis. She will be there for up to 6 weeks. This is located in Decatur, Georgia, just a few miles South of Atlanta, where she is now. She'll be coming home soon though, everybody!! Thanks for checking in....God Bless You....

May 05, 2006 Update
Nicole's Mom and Dad had a Meeting with the Doctors on Wednesday, May 03, 2006, and they say Nicole is progressing extremely well!! As you know, she broke her Neck and her Back in the accident, and her Braces will be coming OFF, in about a week!! She will NOT need Surgery, as originally planned!! Her long term Memory is great, but she is still having some short term Memory problems. With it being about 6 weeks since the accident, I would imagine that she will continue to improve in this area also. We plan to visit again this Saturday or Sunday and I will be back, God willing, with "Awesome Update" # 2!! Thanks for your continued Prayer and Support!! We have truly been Blessed to have such an Awesome Prayer Chain going and such wonderful Friends and Family. I have recieved Prayers and E-Mails not only from England and New Zealand, but from all over the world!! I lost my 18-year old daughter, Amanda, in a car accident on November 19, 2002, and I miss her with everything I am!! NOTHING, could ever keep me from Praising God for Blessing me personally, with the greatest gift I could ask for at this time in my life. The healing of our Sweet, Precious Nicole!! We love her so very much!! God took my baby for a reason and allowed us to keep Nicole for a reason. "He knew His plans for us" long before we were even born!! One day, we will know ALL the answers to His plans for us. That's His Promise!! If you don't have a Personal relationship with Jesus, I strongly urge you to seek Him with all your Heart. My daughter professed her love for Jesus, in front of thousands of people, and I KNOW, without a doubt, where she is right now....In the safe arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!! I will be reunited with her when God calls me Home and I would love to see you ALL there!!

God Bless You Today and Always!!
In Jesus' Most Precious Grip,
Lisa

May 01, 2006 Update
Nicole never liked Green Beans, until today!! That's right, she's eating on her own!! She had Beef and Noodles, Green Beans, and 2 glasses of Tea!! She ate Lunch and Dinner!! Thanks for checking on her!! God Bless You!!

April 29, 2006 Update

I just got home, from spending 5 hours with Nicole!! She was sitting up in a Chair when we arrived, extremely coherent!! She is talking in a whisper, due to her Trach still being in place, but they have capped it off, and she's breathing 100% room air!! She comprehends almost everything!! She was playing ball with her Dad, throwing it back and forth!! She is walking with the help of a Therapist and a Walker!! She SMILED the whole 5 hours we were there!! She is responding to ALL commands!! She will wiggle her finger, telling you to come here. She did that once to her Mom, Rita, and what she wanted was a Kiss and a Hug!! I don't believe I've ever seen as much love, in one room, at one time, as I saw today!! She can tell you who is in a Picture!! She can answer everything you ask her, either by shaking her head, Yes or No, or by being prompted to answer. But, she WILL answer you!! It's just ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to see her this way!! We give ALL the Glory to God!! Her Mom, Rita, says it is only through the Grace of God, that Nicole survived this horrible accident. Thanks to EVERYONE for keeping Nicole in their Prayers. I sooooooo believe in the "Power of Prayer"!! Nicole, actually has a "tentative" Release Date, to go HOME, on May 24, 2006!! Please continue to not only Pray, but let us ALL give Praise to the Lord!!!!

April 25, 2006 Update!!
Nicole is in Atlanta!! Praise our Awesome God of Grace!! They are busy getting her checked in. So I don't know a lot yet, of course. God is an Awesome God!! We Give All The Glory To Him!! I will update you as soon as I can. She is not allowed visitors at the moment, so I haven't seen her yet, but I will soon!! I Praise God for the Healing He has done for our Nicole!! God Bless You All!! I Pray everyone has a Blessed and Safe Easter!! Thanks for checking on Nicole!!

April 11, 2006 Update
I am truly sorry....I misunderstood yesterday about Nicole talking. She was "trying" to talk, however, she did manage to smile. Please forgive me for the misinformation. Nicole was moved to ICU Stepdown today and they have decided to wait a few more weeks before sending her to Shepherd in Atlanta. They say she's just not ready yet. She will probably be ready to go in about two more weeks. Thank you so much for your continued Prayer and Support!! God Bless You All!! And again, I apologize....

April 10, 2006 Update

Today, Nicole's Dad, put a Cell Phone in her hand and she started trying to push the buttons on it!! Her boyfriend called the Cell Phone from within her room and when she heard his voice, she stopped and just stared at the phone and would NOT look back at her Dad!! {smile} She will be coming to Atlanta this week for Rehabilitation. I will be so happy to see her!! Thanks again and again and again to ALL of you for visiting Nicole's Site and keeping her in your Prayers!! Please keep Praying for her recovery, she has a long haul to go!! I will still continue to keep you updated on her progress once she arrives here. God Bless You All, Today and Always!! - Jude 2

April 08, 2006 Update

They have had Nicole sitting up in a chair today!! It became painful for her so they had to put her back in the bed, but what a Blessing!! Shepherd Spinal Center confirmed her admission for this coming week and will be picking her up by ambulance to bring her to Atlanta!! Please Pray for her Rehabilitation to go as painless as possible!! God Bless You All!!

April 07, 2006 Update

Nicole's Doctors have cut down her Ventilator and she is breathing 95% room air!! She is still scheduled to come to Atlanta to begin Rehabilitation within a week or so. "Shepherd Spinal Center" specializes in Brain and Spinal Cord Injury since the early 70's. They have a 97% success rate!! Praise God!! I'll update you more as soon as I am able!! God Bless You and Thanks for checking on Nicole.

April 05, 2006 Update
We have recieved a Blessing from God!! I have some wonderful news!! Nicole is being transfered from "Spartanburg Regional Hospital" in South Carolina, to "Shepherd Spinal Clinic" here in Atlanta, Georgia!! She has become stable enough for Rehabilitation!! She has been opening her eyes and squeezing her Dad's hand!! "Spinal Shepherd Clinic", is one of the leading Rehab Centers in the United States!! Please Pray for a safe trip for her and her Family. They will be coming here within the next week or so. Thanks for all of your Prayers and Support!! God Is Good!! I will keep you updated as much as possible in the coming weeks!! All My Love and Prayers To You!!

April 04, 2006 Update
Nicole responded to a command to move her foot!! Praise our God in Heaven!! Please continue to Pray for her!! I so believe in "The Power of Prayer"!! And don't forget, God hears our Praises, too!! -Amen!!

April 01, 2006 Update
Nicole was running a fever yesterday, but it is back to normal today. Nicole's "Respirator Tubing" was removed from her mouth and throat yesterday and a "Tracheotomy" was done. This is placed in the neck and will make her MUCH more comfortable!! They also placed a "Feeding Tube" in her stomach for "Nutrition". Nicole's Dad, Cecil, said Nicole opened her eyes WIDE today!! Lord, The Power of Prayer!! Paise God!! Thanks for checking up on Nicole....God Bless You All!!

March 28, 2006 Update

The only update I have on Nicole, at this time, is that the Doctors have reduced her "Coma Inducing Drugs" to see if she will respond on her own. As far as I know, she is otherwise stable....Thank You and God Bless You!!

March 25, 2006 Update
Nicole is running fevers of 103.0 to 104.0, which is not unusual with her extent of injury. Fevers are down slightly this afternoon. They found a spot on her lung and biopsied it for culture to see what type of Antibiotic to put her on. They have put her on a Generic one for now. They have also elevated her bed slightly, as they suspect pneumonia will set in. Which is also not unusual when you are bedridden and not breathing on your own. Cultures should be back, Monday or Tuesday of next week. Other than that there is no substantial change. Which, in a way, is good news. Complications are what we fear most. I Trust in the Lord....God Bless You....<3
